BDSM & Kink Counselling
Unicorn Care is ideally placed to assist with a variety of issues unique to this community.
⌵
It is often extremely difficult for BDSM and kink practitioners to find psychological counsellors who do not hold prejudicial views about these practices. In SE Asia in particular, many therapists operate on the assumption that these practices are inherently unhealthy and/or immoral.
Whether you are a seasoned practitioner or just starting on your sexual journey into the world of BDSM, kink and fetish, Unicorn Care offers counselling on a range of issues with a knowledgeable and non-shaming therapist.
Here For You
We focus on the individual practitioner: providing one-to-one support for personal growth in a variety of areas including emotional healing and self-discovery, risk awareness and boundary self-determination.
Our services are available for anyone who wishes to work with a non-judgemental and affirming counsellor. We offer in-person and on-line counselling sessions and have a wide-range of opening hours, including evenings and weekends.
How Can We Help?
Common issues with which we can assist include:
Comprehension and understanding of your kink, BDSM and/or fetish sexuality.
Overcoming internalised beliefs that are causing sexual shame.
Communicating your sexual desires to current or potential partners.
Managing altered states of consciousness associated with BDSM such as sub-frenzy or dom/sub drop.
Assisting clients in relationships involving power dynamics, including contracting and negotiating/re-negotiating boundaries.
Couples Counselling
Kink-involved relationships are as varied as the people in them. Power exchange dynamics, BDSM practices, roleplay and other forms of alternative intimacy can be a deeply positive and enriching part of a relationship - and, at times, they can also generate friction, confusion or hurt.
A kink-friendly couples therapist does not treat kink as a problem to be resolved. The work is not about the kink itself but about the relational dynamics around it: whether both partners feel genuinely heard and respected within the dynamic, whether consent and communication are working as intended, and whether the relationship as a whole is nourishing both people.
Common themes in BDSM couples counselling include:
Consent and negotiation
Trust and aftercare
Kink shaming and internalised shame
Rebuilding trust after rupture
Navigating kink alongside other relationship dynamics (such as consensual non-monogamy or queer identity)
